Mona Sylviana

MONA SYLVIANA was born in Bandung in 1972. She has written short stories, poems, and essays since when studying at the Faculty of Communication at the University of Padjadjaran. Some of her experiences in writing include being a participant of "International Literary Biennale" (2005) and participant of prose residency program at Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (2009).

Mona's short stories have been printed in the national mass media and have been included in several anthologies with other writers, among others Pesan Ombak Padjadjaran (Pustaka Sastra, Yogyakarta, 1993), Improvisasi X (Bentang, Yogyakarta, 1995), Angkatan 2000 dalam Sastra Indonesia (Grasindo, Jakarta, 2000), Dunia Perempuan: Antologi Cerita Pendek Wanita Cerpenis Indonesia (Bentang, Yogyakarta, 2002), Living Together (Kalam, Jakarta, 2005), Upacara Adat di Jawa Barat (Dinas Pariwisata dan Budaya Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat, Bandung, 2014). Her short story anthology, Wajah Terakhir was published in 2011 (Gramedia Pustaka Utama) and A Tale of Redemption & Other Stories (A Trilingual edition in English, German, and Indonesia), (BTW Books, Jakarta, 2016).
