Ni Komang Ariani

Ni Komang Ariani was born in Bali, 19 May 1978, graduated from Airlangga University. In early 2003, she began work as radio news announcer on Global FM Bali, and in October that year, moved to Jakarta to work as a broadcaster and journalist with KBR68H until March 2006.

In 2008, her novella, Nyanyi Sunyi Celah Tebing, won first prize in the Femina magazine serial story contest. Three of her short stories has been chosen in Kompas Short Stories Selection, there are  ”Senja di Pelupuk Mata”, “Sepasang Mata Dinaya yang Terpenjara” dan “Lidah Ketut Rapti”. She has published five books, three short stories collections and two novels, namely  Lidah (2008), Senjakala (2010), Bukan Permaisuri (2012)   Jas Putih (2014) dan Ketut Rapti (2017)

Other awards are she has been selected twice as Top Ten Khatulistiwa Literary Award for her book Senjakala and Bukan Permaisuri.  In the year of 2011 she was invited as one of the speaker in Ubud Writers and Readers Festival and seven years later, she was selected to join ASEAN-Japan Literary Festival Residency Program.
